Hi, I’m Kellie. I started this little endeavor on Wednesday, May , 2008 and I hope that it lasts a long time. You may wonder what exactly gives me the authority to tell you what’s good in the music world. It’s true that I do not have a college degree in music (though I did have a full scholarship out of high school to several places to study music). My father is a professional blues bassist, working with amazing artists like Delbert McClinton, Michael Holloway, and and Steve Cropper. He was even nominated Blues Bassist of the Year in 2001 by the Music City Blues Society.

I come by my love of music honest, as you can tell. I started playing saxophone when I was nine years old and by the time I left high school I could play twelve instruments. It’s been a passion that I have cultivated throughout my adult life, as well. I may not be formally educated on music, but I do know what I’m talking about. My favorite bands are REM, Better Than Ezra, U2, Angie Aparo, Ben Folds, Tori Amos, and Enya. I like all music — even country and rap/hip-hop.

What you will get in this blog will be a mixture of band and album reviews, with a few venue reviews thrown into the mix. You’ll get a Nashvillian’s guide to the music city. You’ll get a seasoned musician’s take on what is good music. Hopefully you’ll discover some music that you haven’t previously known about. I’m always up for comments, suggestions, questions, and criticism. Feel free to E-mail me or leave a comment for me!
